Placing ads on FOR.com.au
I am having problems placing ads
Problems when placing ads can occur for different reasons.
- Pictures: First, check that the images doesn't exceed 2 MB each
Another issue may occur if your internet connection isn't fast enough, as the page page may expire and cause an error. In that case, try to upload one picture to start with and then add more pictures from within My Account.
- Missing information: Go through the form and double check that all information is correctly filled in. If not, the field will be marked by red text.

I am having problems logging in
If you have tried to log in and are receiving the error message “Invalid username or password”, click on the “Forgot Password"-link to retrieve a new password.
If you are a store owner and are receiving an error message saying “Your store is currently not active...”, your account may have been suspended for some reason. Please contact our support team to sort out the issue.
How do I create a FOR.com.au (MyAccount)?
Simply click on http://for.com.au/register & fill in the required details.
If you wish to place an ad at the same time, click on Place your Ad and follow the easy instructions.
How do I place additional ads on the FOR.com.au site after I’ve already created an account?
To place more ads, simply sign in to MyAccount from SimpleTrade’s homepage. In MyAccount, click on Sell an Item or Want an Item in the left hand column.
How do I edit my ad, mark it as “sold" or remove it?
It’s easy to make changes to any of your ads. Sign in to MyAccount and on the left side, you’ll find an User Quick Menu and the option to View, Edit or Creat a new listing
What is the “Quicklist”?
The Quicklist is a simple tool you can use to gather in one place all the items you are interested in when browsing on FOR.com.au.
The items you’ve added to your Quicklist will be visible in the Mini Dashboard on all pages whilst you are signed in, as well as in Dashboard Home.
How do I add items to my “Quicklist”?
When you find an item of interest that you wish to take a closer look at later on, click on the "Add to Quicklist" icon in the top right corner of the ad. The ad will now display in your Mini Dashboard on the left side of the screen.
How do I retrieve my password?
On the homepage, click on the “Forgot your password?” link in the MyAccount sign in section, and a new password will be sent to your email address.
To change your password, sign in to MyAccount and click on Edit my Details in the column on the left hand side.
How do I know that my ad has been activated?
You will receive a receipt by email as soon as your ad is activated.
For how long will my ad show on FOR.com.au before it expires?
Your ad will continue to be shown on FOR.com.au depending upon your selected package.
I uploaded one picture with my free listing. I am not able to upload any more pictures to it. What should i do?
Free listing allows to load up to one picture and one logo for a listing. You can load up to 10 images and 10 videos if you choose featured listing.
FRAUD
Is it safe to list via FOR.com.au?
Yes. Buying and selling with FOR.com.au is very safe if you apply the “Safe Selling Guide” listed below.

The following advice applies to all types of trading situations:
- Never pay in advance to a seller you do not know, and never send the item before you have received the payment. Instead, try to meet in person to make the exchange.
- Never use money wire transfers such as Western Union as they are often difficult to trace.
- Using PayPal is a safe way to transfer money, without revealing any of your sensitive details. See www.paypal.com.au for information about making and receiving payments.
- Request the original receipt.
- Write a purchase agreement.
- If the offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is and it might be fraudulent.
- Do not reveal bank details or other sensitive information if you are not sure who the receiver is.
- Do not engage in trade with people from overseas. The FOR.com.au site is for use only within Australia.
